Straightforward
from Start to Finish.

We keep the process simple. You reach out, we talk through the details, we build it, and we install it. Here's what that looks like in practice.

01

Consultation

We start with a conversation — in person or by phone.

We'll talk through your home's style, where the post will go, and what you're looking for. If it makes sense, we'll come take a look at the site.

We'll walk you through finish options, hardware, and any custom details. By the end, you'll have a clear picture of what you're getting and what it costs.

02

Design

We confirm the details before we start cutting.

Based on our conversation, we'll put together a simple spec — dimensions, finish, hardware, and any add-ons.

We'll share it with you before we start. If anything needs adjusting, we sort that out now.

Once you're happy with it, we select the cedar boards and get to work.

03

Build

We build your post by hand in our Maine shop.

We mill and plane the cedar boards to the dimensions of your design. Each plank is cut, fitted, and checked before assembly.

The post is built square and solid. We finish it with a penetrating oil that protects the wood without hiding the grain.

Hardware is fitted and tested before we load it for delivery.

04

Installation

We come to you and install everything ourselves.

We don't hand it off to a subcontractor. The people who built it are the ones installing it.

Before we leave, we walk you through care and maintenance. And if something comes up later, you can reach us directly.

A Few Things People Ask

What does a mailbox cost?

Most projects range from $1,850–$2,500, depending on materials, design, and installation needs.

How long does the whole process take?

About 3 weeks from first conversation to installation. If you are looking for a tighter timeline, reach out.

Where do you install?

We install in southern Maine. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, just reach out and ask.

Do I need to be home for the installation?

We prefer it, but it's not always required. We'll work out the details with you ahead of time.

Can I get something custom — a different size, a different look?

Possibly. We have a core design that we build well, and we're open to reasonable variations. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll give you an honest answer.

How do I take care of the post?

Very little is needed. If you chose an oiled finish, a light re-oiling every few years keeps it looking good. We'll cover everything at installation.
